Friday night....

Friday night was pizza at Larry's with the Petty's. The rest of the weekend was boring , so I'll just share some pics from Friday night.

This is Elizabeth and John. Her younger cousin. By 7 months. He's tall and I'm jealous. I can wear his shoes. To bad we don't have the same taste - he's kinda into spiderman and transformers.
I love the look on E's face- she looks very happy and proud to be with John.
I love Johns smile. He doesn't. He said "I have a big smile when I smile for the camera and I don't like it". I like it anyway. It makes me smile.

The is Lauren and Leah. They are also close in age - by 9 months, Leah the oldest. They should have been twins, they act a lot alike. The get their way a lot alike. They fuss a lot alike. They are VERY similar. They also make me smile.

These guys.....not so much. They are hard to get a smile out of and don't like to have their picture taken, so it does not make me smile. But their friendship and care for one another makes me smile. Makes me wish I had a sibling. .......not really.
They talk guns. I speak no guns. I understand no guns. People ask me "what did ya kill that deer with?". I say " uh.... Well..... Uh- yeah" I don't know. But Eric and his brother love guns and talk about them all the time.

This is Anslee. She's adopted. Not really, but my kids think so and I think Nathan's kids think so, too. Lauren calls her Sissy. I said something about her being the adopted child of Nathans family and my kids told me "ssssshhhhhh- M-om! That's rude!". They get the whole "privacy issue" of foster kids and being adopted. That's when I explained that Anslee's not really adopted, she just makes a really good babysitter and hangs around with Tab a lot, helping with the kids. Isn't she cute?!?!

And this is precious Samuel. He's so cute with his baby blond curls. His daddy wants to cut them. His mother is smarter than his daddy when it comes to hair and has promised not to cut them yet.

Tab and I avoided pictures because we like pizza. We've like pizza for a long time.

What a week.....

After getting back from vacation last week, we had Revival at church all week. I love the week of fellowship, but it is very tiring and hard the week before school. There is no time to chill before you go back to school and no practicing going to bed early.

We finished the week of revival with an ice cream supper, and then all the kids from church went to Miss Haley's house for a swim.

This is sweet Haley.

Mischievous Mark

Summer was too short. We did not complete our bucket list. I think we got real close to swimming 100 times though.

Friday and Saturday was spent back to school shopping. Sunday was church and preparing to go back to school.

Today, I got up early and had a lust of things to do. GOT UP EARLY and STILL had to put my make up on once I dropped the girls off. I thought each girl would get up in a good mood and be excited about the first day of school. WRONG! Elizabeth was the only one excited. Leah cried all morning and was crying when I left her. REALLY?? Tomorrow she will be better. I hope.

Rocky Mountain National Park

So we left yesterday headed South. For miles and miles. And more miles. In Wyoming, I counted motorcycles for 100 miles. I got to 170. Plus or minus a few. And they were all going the opposite direction. Oh- and 4 toy haulers. I suspect they were headed to Sturgis. It is that time of the year.

I wanted to mark another national park off my list and the Rocky Mountain National Park was SO close, so off we went. What a beautiful drive. We made it to the park a little after 4 and left probably an hour and half later. It was a quick trip. We would have loved to stay longer, AND it definitely a place we will return to, but we gotta go home.

Ain't they precious !

I chose a motel close to I70 in Denver and I made a great pick!! Homewood Suits is close to the airport, so they cater alot to the traveling businessman. Huge bathroom, King size bed, queen size sleeper sofa, kitchenette (which we had no need for) and lots and lots of room. So sad we couldn't stay there longer, it was such a nice room. And of course the girls got to swim. We even had a nice Tai place within walking distance. Everyone had a little bit of sushi and some seafood entrées.

So today Eric says we are gonna make it home. REALLY?? Denver to home. Uuuuuggg Long day ahead.

Sniff, Sniff

We must start traveling home today ): Yesterday we slept in, did some laundry and did some packing. At lunch we went to Janna's for wonderful crawfish etteufee. ( what?? Can you spell it any better??- spell check can't!!!!). After lunch, we went to my favorite potter's home and bought some more John Worth pottery. He is so nice and make beautiful pottery. He and his wife have also adopted two children and the youngest was a dear little girl that entertained Elizabeth and Leah while I shopped. She showed them around the "farm" and showed them the paint horse and the llama's. After going to John's we went to Janna's neighbor to exchange knitting for quilting. Then it was back home for more laundry.

Last night we ate watermelon, leftovers and ice cream before were said our tearful goodbyes. Elizabeth and I just had one big ole boohoo down the driveway.

This morning we left around 6. Bye bye beautiful Montana. And thank you Aunt Janna and Uncle Mike for the wonderful hospitality. We love ya!

Yellowstone

What a wonderful day in the park. We left Aunt Janna's early yesterday morning(7:30) and headed to Yellowstone. It was a long way to where Grandma is working. She is working an hour into the park and there was LOTS of traffic!

Oh my - at all the people!! And so many foreigners!! The girls were excited about seeing animals and animals we did see! First we saw a bear. I'll have to post pics of that later- that's on my other camera. We finally met up with Grandma and Chuck. They had hamburgers Nd hot dogs ready for us when we got there.

Grandma was so excited to see us and we were VERY excited to see her!!

I was so excited yesterday morning when I was able to get a room in Gardiner. I was quite disappointed when we pulled into the Best Western last night at 9:00 pm and we DID NOT have a room in Gardiner. We had a room in Livingston an hour away. Apparently you have to be smarter than the Smart phone. I used it to find the phone number of the motel, but I did not pay attention to the address. I just saw Best Western of Yellowstone. I had one unhappy husband camper. Oh he was mad, but a good nights rest cured his grumpiness and he feels much better this morning.

See - can't you tell. (:

Montana Vacation

We made it to Limon, Colorado on Saturday night. You know what's in Limon?..........nothing but motels and a few gas stations. You know why? Because there is pure-D nothing between here and there. Anyway- the girls got what they wanted- a swimming pool.

Saturday we took off to Montana. We got there about 9:30pm our time. Long time in the car, but so worth it. No humidity!!

We lazy'd around in our "home" the next morning- Eric napping and me reading a book.

This is our home for the week. THANkS AUNT JANNA!! For all you haters of only children - thrhthththththtthh !

So on Sunday the girls played in the creek below Janna's house after a nice lunch enjoyed with Nat. Sunday night Janna gave a nice birthday part for her friend Jill- yummy food and burgers.

Monday the girls went shopping and the boys tinkered on trucks. I found a few treats in Big Timber to bring back home. When we got back, Leah and Elizabeth got back in the creek.

A cool front blew in last night and we woke to much cooler temps today. The thermometer said 49. It's 8:30 now and the tahoe thermometer says 63. Much better than back home. Today we are headed to Yellowstone to see my sweet Grandma and Chuck.
