School has begun

Elizabeth started school on Wednesday. She has just one teacher this year, where as the last two years she had her day split between the two. We have caught the bus on time each day and she has successfully made it walking to the baby sitter's house after she gets off the bus. The Sheridan school district has decided not to let Poyen run anymore buses in Sheridan's school district, except for 4 locations. Since Prattsville is in the Sheridan School district, Elizabeth has to catch the bus at a church down the road from the babysitters. This isn't a problem in the morning, just a problem in the afternoon, when she has to cross two roads and go through a store parking lot. She has a couple of others to walk with, so I think it is going to be OK. She likes her teacher and has had two nights of homework and daily reading. She hasn't fussed too much yet.
Last night we met an old friend in Little Rock for supper. I was on facebook yesterday morning, when I saw that he was in Little Rock. My best friend from high school moved to Iowa after a year at college, and met her husband there. They have 3 beautiful girls. He is career military, and was in Little Rock for computer training. We went to a nice New Orlean's style restaurant, Copeland's, and had a great meal. It was so good to see him, she married a nice guy.
Today is a beautiful day. There is no humidity, there is an occasional breeze, and it's not hot!! I wish everyday could be this nice. Leah and I are enjoying the deck right now, I am blogging and she is making dirt birthday cakes. I hope she enjoys her last year of freedom . She has also, today, worked on the letter "A" and watched Return of the Jedi. What a life. I would say life is very good for her now.
